Mt. Hood Solar Eclipse Sunrise
From Mt. Tabor on Christmas Morning, 2000. There was an eclipse, but we couldn't see it. I almost didn't notice how the clouds made a spectacular sunrise! It did pay to get up early and freeze in the wind.

Mt. Hood Winter Slopes
Perfect ski day after the lifts closed. The base of Mt. Hood Meadows. It was a great day with all lifts and Heather Canyon open. Ski now, work later!

Mt. St. Helens Winter Sunset
The clouds break sometimes and the Cascades light up spectacularly. I captured this unique view hiking the Oregon Coast Range, in January. Change plans and get the photo! Never seen this good again, or seen another photograph like this. Personal Favorite.

Mt. St. Helens Summer
South side of Mt. St. Helens. The erupted backside can somewhat be seen to right. A large lava / ash / debris flow is directly in front. Good summer hiking.

Mt. St. Helens Star Trails
Time Exposure. E ART H rotation above the mountain. I overslept and it was light out! I jumped to the camera and clicked it off. Saved the photo with a bright dawn glow. darksy.org. Night lights, not bright lights. Stars are healthy.

Mt. St. Helens from Mt. Rainier
Climbing Mt. Rainier I captured this image. Looking into the errupted crater of Mt. St. Helens.

|
Mt. St. Helens summer landscape
Hiking the opposing ridge north of St. Helens, showing the volcanic crater and the area of the 1980 erruption. Great view of the terrain of this desolate area. The erruption debris flow came up and over where I'm standing. Interesting as this photo is years after the one below. Looks like things have greened up some.

Mt. St. Helens Eruption Zone
Summit of Mt. St. Helens. Directly out of the erruption zone to Spirit Lake and Mt. Rainier. This was the mountain until the May 1980 volcanic eruption. 1300 feet of mountain exploded right here. Mt Rainier in distance.

Mt. St. Helens Summit
Top of Mt. St. Helens looking east to Mt. Adams. Edge of the summit, stay back. It drops away 1500 feet to my left.

Mid summer beauty at Green Lakes.

Mt. Washington Lava Fields
Crest of the Cascades. Cold and windy, while the lava rocks radiated the hot sun. Hot July in Bend but I froze up here. Personal favorite, fun spot.

Crater Lake
High on the mountain ridge. Looking east with Wizard Island. Crater Lake is the remnants of a volcano, Mt. Mazama, which rivaled the larger Cascade Peaks. It exploded 7,700 years ago. The explosion is in the oral history of local Klamath Native Americans.

Crater Lake to North Peaks
Beautiful view of the lake, looking north to Mt. Bailey, Mt. Thielsen, and Diamond Peak. From near the visitor's center.

Crater Lake Star Trails
It was amazing to wander the lake all night stargazing. Stars are so bright when away from cities and up high. Great conditions on this time exposure. Looking northeast. Wizard Island in foreground. The bright background sky is the Milky Way galaxy. It's so bright up here you think it's clouds, but no those are stars! Night skies are healthy for us. Turn off lights, enjoy the nights! darksky.org.

Mt. Rainier Sunrise
Dramatic dawn patrol on the east side of the mountain. Stunning color at first light. Freezing temps and hands make it tough, but the summer sun soon heats. They call it " Sunrise " for a reason.

Mt. Rainer East
Same day as sunrise. Late morning light fills in giving a great detailed overview of the mountain.

Tetons
White and blue on a cold winter day. Grand Teton on left and Mt. Moran on right. Personal favorite. I love the color, composition, fence, feeling and old style quality of the photograph. I shot this in 1995 on Kodak film no longer made.

Art Backs
All my art has writing on the back. Short, long, poetry, sketches, quotes. It changes over time. Putting out some messages, history, stories, websites, or fun. Sometimes I get rolling in the flow, and photos can come with very original poetry. Rarely, I write on the front. This has been a fun thing over the years and the great response from people keeps it evolving. Sometimes my booth feels like a library with all the reading going on. I take pride in making original, personal, signed art, not mass produced cheap things. Anything personally signed means more, and is worth more, as the years go by. It's important to me as an artist to put out a message, not just sell pretty pictures.
Photographs are not attached to boards. Frame both sides if you like. Some do.
