Hawthorne Crossing
The heart of Portland. Capturing the spirit of the Hawthorne commute. The dramatic light this day I've never seen again. The sun and shadows off the Hawthorne bridge spectacular. I had to stop to photograph. Riding home, I waited for the perfect biker. One shot, and he was gone. My bike leans against the railing. Ride Bikes, Free Minds! Escape Carthink! Hawthorne Crossing will hang in the art museum one day, and really should be there now.

Bridge walking, Portland life. Rainy Hawthorne Crossing, to go with the sunny Hawthorne Crossing. On the opposite side of the bridge, with a different city view, I waited for life. The umbrellas were perfect. The two photographs compliment each other well, match up side by side.

Portland. The snow of 2008.
The super white Christmas of 2008. The most snow in 40 years. Way too much for Portland's two snowplows. Skiers and snowboarders rode the town. I was at the market, selling photos, in artic conditions. Harsh! Roofs cracked, trees fell, we lost money, but we made it. Four originals made, signed and numbered.
