Lime Kiln Lighthouse, cool summer sunset
San Juan Island, Washington. Looking Northwest to Vancouver Island, Canada. Cool, semi rainy summer sunset. It's called Lime Kiln because they used to mine lime here, quite an interesting history. This has been a remarkably popular photo. Something different among all the standard lighthouse photographs.
Lime Kiln Lighthouse, late color
Late glow at the end of another fantastic three hour summer sunset. Sitting on rock ledges, a great place to enjoy nature's show. San Juan Island, Washington.
Tillamook Rock Winter Sunbeams
Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. Winter light, sunbeams, and a cold sea looking out to it's lonely perch.
Tillamook Rock Lighthouse
North Oregon Coast. Over a mile from shore on a small rock island. Built year round in 1880 - 81. Consistently and violently hit by storms. Waves crash over it, and sometimes boulders and logs. Men lived and worked here until 1957. Truly one of the most remarkable lighthouses in the world.
Heceta Head Lighthouse
Central Oregon Coast. Great natural light on this photograph.
Yaquina Head Lighthouse
Newport, Oregon. November day. Good waves.
Kilauea Lighthouse, Hawaii
Magical spot. Overrun with bureaucracy, too bad. Should just be a free park for all.
